American guitarists and former Juilliard professor Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit against rapper and hip-hop mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs last week. The suit also includes Combs' son, Justin Dior Combs, Combs' chief of staff Christine Coram, and several other individuals and record companies, such as Universal Music Group and Motown Records.
In the filing, Jones stated that he lived with Combs “for months at a time” at his homes in Los Angeles, New York City, and Miami, and spent several weeks on a yacht with Combs in the U.S. Virgin Islands. During this time frame, Jones stated that he “endured a lot of things that went beyond his role as producer on the Love album.”
The lawsuit alleges that Combs asked Jones to “constantly record him” and that every so often, Combs would take Jones' phone and record himself. For this reason, Jones claims to have “hundreds of hours of footage and audio recordings” of Combs, his employees and guests “engaged in serious illegal activity” including “the use and distribution of ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine and marijuana.” and mushrooms,” as well as “the display and distribution of illegal and unregistered firearms.”
Combs is also alleged to have been providing “alcoholic beverages laced with alcoholic beverages to minors and sex workers at his residence,” and on many occasions, his chief of staff, Christina Coram, would assign her staff to recover these drugs. Jones described Khurram as “Ghislaine Maxwell” to Combs in the filing.
On September 12, 2022, a shooting occurred outside a recording studio in Hollywood, according to KCAL News. However, Jones claims in the lawsuit that this It actually happened in a bathroom and involved Combs, Combs' son, Justin Combs, and a friend known only as “G.”. Jones claims that three men got into a heated argument in the studio and eventually moved into the bathroom adjacent to the recording studio.
While Jones was standing just feet away from the bathroom, he stated that he heard several gunshots and feared he would be shot through the door due to his proximity. When the shooting subsided, the two men came out of the bathroom. The suit alleges that Gee was “lying on the bathroom floor in a fetal position, clutching his stomach and bleeding from his leg/hip area.”
Jones said he was frustrated because no one was doing anything, so he fell down and began applying pressure to Gee's wound in his abdomen. It was then that Jones stated that he realized that he had also been shot in the leg/hip area. Jones sat on the toilet and asked someone to call an ambulance. When the ambulance arrived, Jones brought Gee to the front of the studio while Combs' men disappeared into another part of the studio.
According to the lawsuit, Combs “He issued strict instructions to inform the police that he had nothing to do with the shooting.” And he told Jones that He told police that G had been shot during a drive-by shootingas reported by the news.
Jones alleges that Love Records, Motown Records, Universal Music Group and Chalice Recording Studios provided security for the “writers camp,” but failed to confiscate weapons from both spouses.
The lawsuit also alleges that Jones was “the victim of persistent unwanted and unauthorized groping and touching of the anus by Mr. Combs” at several of Combs' homes and that Jones was “forced” to work in Combs' bathroom while he walked around naked. It rains in a clear shower. Khurram allegedly stated that this was Combs' way to “show that he likes you.”
At one point, Jones claimed Combs showed him a video of DJ Steven Jordan (Stevie J), who has worked with Bad Boy Records, Mariah Carey, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z and others, allegedly having unprotected sex with a Caucasian man. Jones said Combs told him that ““This is normal practice in the music industry, see even Stevie J does it.” In what Jones described as an attempt to “groom and entice” Jones into engaging in homosexuality.
The file included screenshots that allegedly came from this video.
On Thanksgiving 2022, Jones claimed that rapper Yung Miami and her cousin were at a party in Miami. During this party, Jones believes Combs sent Young Miami's cousin to “sexually assault” him. Jones also claimed that Combs would give him a Bad Boys baseball cap and send him to Booby Trap, a strip club in Miami. The ball cap was a “signal” that Combs was in town and that Jones was there to recruit them. Jones states that Combs would use his “power and influence” to intimidate him into luring these women and sleeping with them.
The lawsuit alleges that Combs was promised lavish gifts and prestige in exchange for doing his work, including a Grammy Award for “Producer of the Year for Love Album,” $250,000 to purchase musical instruments, and even ownership of a $20 million estate in the prestigious album. (Island of Stars in Miami).
On the other hand, Combs also allegedly used threats of physical harm including menacing “Eat Mr. Jones' face” And “Kill his mother, Janice Combs, if he has to get what he wants, so he won't think twice about hurting Mr. Jones.”
In July 2023, Jones claimed there was a “listening party” at one of Combs' homes involving sex workers and “At least five women in the crowd are under the age of sixteen.” Combs allegedly forced all of the women to drink alcoholic beverages that were laced with what Jones believed to be ecstasy. Jones said he tried to leave but Combs took his car keys to prevent that. Jones was forced to drink the alcoholic beverage and said he woke up the next morning at 4am with a “sex worker sleeping next to him”.
The complaint includes photos allegedly taken that evening.
Jones also claims that Combs was grooming him “to pass on to his friends.” This allegedly included Cuba Gooding Jr. while on board Combs' yacht one night in a makeshift studio. Jones alleges that Gooding Jr. began “touching, groping, and fondling Mr. Jones' legs, his upper thighs near his groin, and the small of his back near his buttocks and shoulders.” Jones said he eventually “forced him away.”
