Isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop Monday along the afternoon sea breeze, according to an NWS hazardous weather statement that includes Daytona Beach.
The stronger storms will be able to produce wind gusts up to 45 mph, occasional cloud-to-ground lightning strikes, and small hail. The greatest rain and storm coverage is expected to be south of Volusia County, along the line from Kissimmee to Okeechobee.
Slow-moving storms will be able to dump 1-2 inches of rain in a short period of time which could lead to localized flooding in low-lying, urban or poorly drained areas, advisory states said.
Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue until the middle of this week, with the highest chances on Wednesday, according to the warning.

Tuesday: A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. under mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 75 degrees and a night low around 65. East winds 5 to 10 mph. The chance of rain at night rises to 70%, with the possibility of rain and possibly a thunderstorm.
Wednesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm possible, with a 70% chance of rain. The high is expected to be near 78, with an overnight low around 61. Southwest wind around 10 mph.

TRY A COLESLOW WRESTLING: Coleslaw wrestling, Bike Week's most smelly tradition, will once again draw thousands of fans to the 5-acre field behind Sopotnick's Cabbage Patch Bar, a beloved, weathered, wood-framed watering hole that was a staple of the Nearly a century old at the corner of State Route 415 and Pioneer Trail in Samsula.
