Rain will continue this morning before dry weather prevails this afternoon. Despite the drought, cold temperatures and gusty winds will continue. We continue to have high surf impacting local beaches with waves ranging from 4 to 6 feet and isolated waves of up to 7 feet, with a high surf warning in place until 9 a.m. Monday.
A low pressure system cutting south will bring another round of rain late Wednesday into early Thursday. Starting Monday morning, rain will dodge morning commutes on Wednesday but drenched drivers on evening commutes. Light to moderate rain will begin Thursday afternoon, then become heavy and scattered during the night hours and into Thursday morning.
Snow levels will drop to about 5,500 to 6,000 feet, meaning Mount Laguna and Mount Palomar could get a nice dusting. Initial precipitation totals range between .10 and .50 inches of rain. This storm will also amplify overland flow, meaning strong winds will target mountain slopes Wednesday night.
On Friday, we dry off and prepare for the weekend as high pressure re-develops. We will likely see temperatures up to 70 degrees back into the picture.
Monday highs:
Coast: 62-64 degrees
Interior: 54-64 degrees
Mountains: 49-59 degrees
Deserts: 71-75 degrees
