KATHIE'S KORNER – Enjoy the “quiet days” and remember that they are all God's weather

When I start my day, with my husband, prayer, and coffee, it's a cool, breezy (almost spring) and soft morning.
I remember a dear, funny, wonderful friend, Buck Majors, from the days of our 55-acre farm in Washington.
He was a strong cutter, “Bhar al-Nahar,” meaning he worked every day except in the wind (fallen trees). He loved life and had interesting sayings about everything.
My favorite were the gray days, even the light rainy days, they were called “soft days”.
If you think about it, cold gray days should be called “soft days.” The weather is usually breezy, comfortable and easy on the eyes when fishing, traveling or gardening.
You can think of more activities, but most people think it's bad or depressing because they can't see the sunlight. It's there, just covered.
This little saying and scripture changed my attitude toward the weather.
The Bible also reminds us how Jesus was in the boat with his disciples when a storm suddenly arose, but he calmed the storm.
Make sure you are in the boat with Jesus, like his disciples, and you will always be safe.
Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior now.
The Bible has few but profound places where it talks about “softness” from our speech to our clothing and maintaining a soft heart.
Proverbs 15:1 Amplified Bible: “A gentle answer turns away wrath (wrath).” Text messages nowadays may need simple answers.
Proverbs 25:15 Amplified Bible: “Judges, rulers, and wise men used soft speech to question, calm, and teach, sometimes breaking down the stiff resistance of the listeners.”
Matthew 11:8 Amplified Bible: Jesus said, “Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in the houses of kings.”
If he is yours, then your house is his and do not hesitate to wear soft clothes, rather than harsh or scratchy clothes.
So, enjoy all the “quiet days” and remember that they are all God’s weather.
