    Damien Chazelle admits that the failure of “Babylon” may hinder future projects

    As they often say in Hollywood, “Who knew?”

    Take the 2022 movie Babylon. It starred Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, and won an Academy Award La la land Writer/director Damien Chazelle takes issue with this.

    Then it came out and grossed just $15 million domestically against an $80 million budget. Reviews were mixed. No prizes were awarded.

    Chazelle knows that exists Babylon On his resume he will not help fund future projects, as he indicated during TCM Talking pictures Podcast.

    “Certainly, financially, Babylon “It didn't work out at all,” Chazelle said. “You try not to have that influence on what you do creatively, but, on some level, it can't help but influence it. But maybe that's OK? I have a very mixed opinion about it. Who knows. Maybe I won't be able to make this.” “I have no idea. We'll have to wait and see.”

    He continued: “I was in the sand. I've been kind of busy writing. So I'll get a real taste of how it's changed or not [since Babylon] Once you finish this script and actually try to get it done. I am in a state of mental panic, but I have no delusions. I won't get a budget Babylon size anytime soon, or at least not in this next event.
