    NewsWatch 12 is monitoring road conditions and any chain requirements on local roads due to snow and ice today.

    Jackson County

    Closure: OR-273 is closed from mileposts 1 to 22.

    Series requirements:

    I-5 at Siskiyou Summit: Chains are required on all 4WD and 4WD vehicles except towing.

    OR-62 Close Possibility: Strings required. Traction tires are permitted in place of chains on vehicles under 10,000 GVW that are not capable of towing. Vehicles that tow chains must be used. Chain restriction between MP 45 – MP 66.

    Closure: nothing

    Series requirements:

    I-5 at Sexton Summit: Load chains

    US-199 at Hayes Hill: Carrying chains

    Klamath County

    Closure: nothing

    Series requirements:

    OR-140 in Lake of the Woods: Carrying Chains.

    OR-140 at Duke Mountain: load chains.

    OR-140 at Mount Bly: Carrying chains

    Intersection of US-97 and OR-138: Carrying chains

    Lake County

    Closure: nothing

    Series requirements:

    OR-140 in quartz mountain: load chains

    OR-140 at Warner Mountain: Chains are required for vehicles towing or exceeding 10,000 GVW 0-6.

    Siskiyou County

    Closure: nothing

    Series requirements:

    I-5 at Black Butte Pass: Carrying chains

    CA-89 at the top of the snowman: Chains are required on all vehicles except passenger cars and light trucks that have a gross weight rating of less than 6,000 pounds and are equipped with snow tires on at least two wheels. Chains must be carried by vehicles using snow tires. All vehicles towing trailers must have chains on one drive axle. Trailers with brakes must have chains on at least one axle.

    US-97 in Mount Hebron: carry chains

    CA-3 at Mount Scott: load chains

    Douglas County

    Closure: nothing

    Series requirements:

    I-5 at Canyon Creek: Load chains

    OR-230 at OR-138 (Diamond Lake Interchange): Chains required. Traction tires are permitted in place of chains on vehicles under 10,000 GVW that are not capable of towing. Vehicles that tow chains must be used. Chain restriction between MP 0 and 24 on the OR-230 and MP 67 and MP 93 on the OR-138.

    OR-58 at Willamette Pass: Chains required. Traction tires are permitted in place of chains on vehicles under 10,000 GVW that are not capable of towing. Vehicles that tow chains must be used. Chain restrictions exist between mile 54 to 70.
