At least 19 people were injured, including three children, after a car hit a crowd of people waiting at a tram stop in Poland.

The car then collided with three other vehicles when the driver tried to flee, police said.

Two people were reportedly seriously injured in the accident, which occurred in the northwestern city of Szczecin, near… German border.

The accident occurred at a busy intersection at around 4 p.m. local time, at the beginning of rush hour.

A video on social media, allegedly from the aftermath of the accident, showed people lying on the road.

In other footage, emergency crews were seen helping people on the ground.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle was a 33-year-old local man who left the scene but was arrested shortly after.

Szczecin police spokesman Paul Bankau said there was no suspicion of terrorism, but did not provide any further details.
