The Meteorological Authority expects heavy rain today with snow falling at the highest elevations.
In Darlington, heavy rain is not expected to fall at 1pm, but will continue for most of the afternoon.
They expect a cold start to the day and after rising to 6°C at 12 noon, it is expected to drop again in the early afternoon.
By late afternoon, the rain was supposed to ease and the evening would be overcast.
The maximum temperature will be 6 degrees Celsius and the minimum 2 degrees Celsius, and the sun is scheduled to set at 17:43 pm.

A Met Office spokesman said: “A cold and frosty start with patches of mist and mist disappearing with a band of strong winds, rain and snow arriving by the afternoon.
“Snow likely to be limited to higher ground. Severe rain showers will follow behind. Maximum temperature 7 degrees Celsius.
“Rain and snow continue in the north of the region, and some rain will continue throughout the night. The winds will calm down, but it will remain cloudy with frost appearing at dawn.”
