DENVER (KDVR) — Denver weather is ending the work week with sunny skies and mild temperatures before winds pick up on Saturday, along with rain and snow on Sunday.
Today's weather: sunny and comfortable
Denver will see mainly sunny skies on Friday with a light breeze. Highs reach the mid 60s with fire danger increasing south toward Colorado Springs.
Red flag warnings are in effect Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. These warnings continue on Saturday, with red flag warnings up and down the eastern half of the state from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Tonight's weather: Stay clear
The sky will remain clear throughout the night, with winds remaining active. Low temperatures Friday night will remain very mild, only dipping into the mid 30s.
Looking Ahead: Windy weekend with rain showers
Winds will increase Saturday across the state and red flag warnings will be in effect for the eastern half of the state.
Highs on Saturday will be in the mid 60s with sunny skies.
Snow showers move into the mountains Saturday night and will continue through most of Sunday.
Denver could see some light rain or snow showers Sunday morning, but no accumulation is expected. A partial clearing is expected Sunday afternoon with temperatures rising into the low 50s and light winds.
Mountain Country totals will be 3 to 10 inches with a few spots over 1 foot.
Monday kicks off the work week with cooler highs in the mid 40s and partly cloudy skies.
Tuesday returns with more sunshine, but temperatures remain near seasonal averages in the upper 40s.
Wednesday brings the low 50s back into the forecast as clouds increase throughout the day.
Thursday will see cloudy skies and highs in the lower 50s. There is a chance of some snow Thursday along the Front Range, but totals everywhere are still a week away.
