In honor of Tom Skilling, the WGN Weather Center has been officially renamed.
The Tom Skilling Weather Center was unveiled on Wednesday, which coincided with Skilling's last official day on the air.
During his tenure, he covered everything from extreme winters and heat waves to hurricanes. He's also seen a lot of changes — from improvements in technology to improvements in his workspace.
So it is fitting that the Met Office has received another upgrade and been renamed.
It's a simple way to honor Skilling and all of his contributions to meteorology, Chicago and WGN.
