Apple shareholders rejected a proposal requiring the company to disclose its artificial intelligence activities.
The proposal, submitted by AFL-CIO Equity Index Funds, would have required the company to prepare a report on its use of artificial intelligence in operations and disclose any ethical guidelines the company adopts.

The company said during the disclosure of the results of the annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday that the proposal had failed.
The meeting comes shortly after Apple halted its efforts to build an electric car. The company plans to move some employees to Apple's artificial intelligence group.
CEO Tim Cook said the company is working on generative AI and will announce progress later this year.
