Last week, we reported that former “Dukes Of Hazzard” star John Schneider was accused of racism after he apparently compared singer Beyoncé to a dog that pees for her foray into country music. Now, Schneider is responding to his own defense, calling the racist allegations “ridiculous and absurd.”

Schneider appears to be comparing Beyoncé to a pissed-off dog

While conducting an interview with the conservative outlet One American News, Schneider, 63, was asked about “left-wing” musicians in the wake of Beyoncé, 42, foraying into the country music genre for the first time.

“Leftists in the entertainment industry aren't going to leave any area alone, are they?” the host asked, according to the Daily Mail. “They just have to control every aspect, right?”

“They have to make their mark, just like a dog at a dog walking park. You know, every dog has to make a mark on every tree, right? That's what's going on here,” Schneider replied, appearing to compare Beyoncé to a dog peeing.

Beyoncé's fans quickly took advantage of Schneider, calling him “racist and hateful,” but he says that couldn't be further from the truth, as he uses the pissed-off dog analogy all the time.

    Schneider defends himself

“I've used that expression for myself whenever I try to get out. And push the envelope? I'm from New York. I have a saying,” Schneider told the Daily Mail. “I've said every dog should be in a tree my whole life, which means every person has the right In expressing his opinion. “Everyone has the right to try, do and say anything because of freedom of expression.”

“Everyone has the right to try or do anything they want, so it was never the intention to compare her to a dog,” he continued. “And if you listen to it or if you see it, you'll see that the first thing I said about Beyoncé was that I think Beyoncé is the greatest singer since Whitney Houston.”

Schneider had a career in country music in the 1980s, so he knows a thing or two about the genre.

“I know a little bit about country music, because I've been doing it for a long time. God bless her for having a No. 1 song,” Schneider added. “And now, even if I say something offensive, which I didn't do, I have the right to do so.”

Schneider went on to say that he believes Beyoncé's fans “used him” to generate more interest in the singer's upcoming country music album and her country songs “Texas Hold 'Em” and “16 Carriages.”

“They found something they could take out of context, and they ran with it. I think they ran with it. They looked at it as free press for a new album. “I was being used as an unintentional, I wouldn't say unintentional, but unintentional tool to promote some new music.”

“I welcome all freedom of expression.”

Despite the backlash he has received, Schneider has no interest in trying to silence his haters.

“I welcome all freedom of expression,” he said. “I believe in standing up for what you believe is right, even if I disagree with you.”

Schneider concluded his speech by noting that he would be open to collaborating with Beyoncé, saying, “Maybe one day there will be a duet between Beyoncé and John Schneider — who knows?” I know a little bit about country music. I mean I had four single digits.”

As one of the only conservative stars in Hollywood, Schneider is often targeted by hateful leftists, so the backlash he received isn't really surprising.

In the end, we can't help but agree with Schneider that Beyoncé's fans “used” him to promote her music, as there's nothing the left loves more these days than claiming to be victims of “racism” even when it's not at all.
