US-based cryptocurrency brokerage OANDA is set to begin cryptocurrency trading services in the UK via its registered subsidiary OANDA Crypto. The cryptocurrency subsidiary was created last year after the cryptocurrency brokerage acquired a majority stake in FCA-registered Coinpass.

The new cryptocurrency trading platform will provide trading services for more than 63 cryptocurrency pairs, including Bitcoin Bitcoin against the dollar And the ether ETH/USDwith plans to add more icons and features in the coming years.

OANDA's latest expansion into the UK comes more than a year after the company opened its cryptocurrency trading services in the US in partnership with Paxos, a popular cryptocurrency trading platform. The company recently moved its European operations away from Malta to Warsaw in Poland, where it acquired Polish broker Dom Maklerski TMS Brokers SA, which was later rebranded as OANDA TMS.

The cryptocurrency brokerage has often chosen regions with strict regulatory requirements, first the US and now the UK. Several leading cryptocurrency companies have withdrawn their services in the UK since October 2023 following new regulatory guidelines issued by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on cryptocurrency advertising. Cryptocurrency companies such as Bybit and Revolut temporarily suspended operations in the UK last year, citing the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)'s new promotion rules.
