    The weather forecast for Canton calls for changing temperatures

    There is a chance for severe storms mainly across northwest Ohio Monday night.  The main danger will be large hail.  Severe weather is likely Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning in the Canton area.
    • The National Weather Service advises staying informed about the weather this week.
    • The high temperature is expected to reach 61 degrees on Monday.
    • Thunderstorms and strong winds occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday.

    CANTON — The National Weather Service is advising people to stay weather aware this week, as above-average temperatures today may be followed by severe storms on Tuesday and Wednesday.

    Today's high temperature is expected to be close to 61 degrees under sunny skies. There is a chance for severe storms mainly across northwest Ohio tonight. The main danger will be large hail.

    The nightly low in the Canton area is expected to reach around 47 degrees tonight, with south winds ranging from 7 to 10 mph.

    Showers and thunderstorms are possible Tuesday, especially before 1 p.m. It is expected to be cloudy with a high of 64 degrees. South winds are expected to range from 13 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 26 mph. The probability of rain is 70%. New rainfall amounts of between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are expected. Higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

    Tuesday night's forecast indicates the possibility of rain. A thunderstorm is likely before 7 p.m., followed by rain and possibly a thunderstorm between 7 and 8 p.m., and rain and possibly a thunderstorm is expected after 8 p.m. The low will be around 59. It will be breezy, with south winds 11 to 16 mph. Increases to 19 to 24 mph after midnight. Wind speeds can reach 37 mph. The probability of rain is 100%. New rainfall amounts of between a half and three-quarters of an inch are possible.

    Here are the National Weather Service's forecasts for the rest of the week:

    • Wednesday: Rain before 4 p.m., then rain and snow possible. Some thunder is also possible. High near 59. Breezy, with a southwest wind 21 to 23 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. The probability of rain is 100%. Little or no snow is expected to accumulate.
    • Wednesday night: Snow showers possible, especially before 7 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 24. Breezy. The probability of rain is 60%. Less than half an inch of new snow accumulation is possible.
    • Thursday: Mostly sunny, the maximum temperature is close to 34 degrees. At night, the weather is mostly clear, with lows around 24 degrees.
    • Friday: Mostly sunny with a high temperature approaching 48 degrees. At night, the weather is mostly cloudy with a low temperature of about 37 degrees.
    • Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 56 during the day. At night, the weather is partly cloudy, and the minimum temperature is around 42.
    • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.
