Harare: An Australian tourist has gone missing in Zimbabwe's Victoria Falls National Park, home to one of the natural wonders of the world, a Zimbabwe parks spokesman said.

Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority spokesperson Tinashe Farau said the tourist went missing in the vast rainforest on Friday.

“We have a whole team including police looking for the tourist. We have deployed sniffer dogs, drones and tracking devices on the ground,” Farawo said. He said the tourist was 67 years old but did not provide further details.

Such incidents are rare at Victoria Falls, a destination that attracts thousands of tourists from around the world due to its majestic curtain of water that descends more than 108 meters from the mighty Zambezi River into a gorge below, creating a mist that can be seen from kilometers away.
