Watch: The weather is nice at the end of the weekend, and changes are on the way
Sunny Sunday across North Carolina
Much like spring there now. Let's get to the expectations. Oh, a cold morning, a beautiful sunrise, but a cold morning with those clear skies. We're in our twenties now. No one in their 30s was below freezing. 26 in Burlington, 28 Greensboro is a little cooler to the north. Then, as you head west into the foothills, it's a low of 20 degrees Celsius. Some of us are in our mid-20s, it's cold. There's no two ways about it. It's cold out there and it will be cold for most of us this morning. Still cold by lunchtime. But that afternoon feeling is still cool, but more comfortable with plenty of sunshine in the forecast. High 40s for us in the mountains later today. Lots of sunshine and a wonderful afternoon. If you have extra free time after church, you want to get out. Today is a beautiful day to do that. Low 50s for the foothills and again, low 50s for the Piedmont Triad later today after a cool start, plenty of sunshine for us and staying clear for most of the day. Some clouds move in later, but we still have this area of high pressure that really helps control the weather. Keeping us clear for most of the day. today. We won't start to see some changes until later tonight and Monday. The weather is very calm with us today. But tomorrow back to work on Monday. It will be breezy and feel warmer too. I've forecast highs in the mid 60s on Monday and recently added a chance of spotty showers, maybe a couple of sprinkles throughout for you. It's best here in just a minute, but moving forward, rain chances increase this week. It's getting breezy too and the temperatures are all over the place. As the air warms and the breeze picks up again, likely starting tomorrow and into Tuesday and Wednesday, our tree pollen counts will be way up. Really, just enjoy the activity the rest of the week here with some warm spring like air moving around. If you don't feel the effects of an allergy, you will likely feel them within the next couple of days. Let me talk about the small rain chance I'll have tomorrow. Overall, I don't think this is a big deal, but there is something I noticed in the forecast trends. You see this future pattern throughout the day with some lingering clouds and perhaps a couple of showers. Mostly I think this could be a few sprinkles at times, but a light intermittent shower can't be completely ruled out across the Piedmont as we head through the day Monday, most of us should stay dry. Most of this shouldn't make it to the floor, but there's still something I'm including. Just in case you see some raindrops on your windshield tomorrow just to cover it up. Scattered showers on Tuesday will likely be a little better. A chance for us there and the best chance of rain all week. It's expected to be Wednesday night into Thursday morning with the next cold front. As time goes on, the rain will likely fall mostly while we sleep, but we'll keep you posted. Do you see this quick warmup heading into Monday? On Tuesday, we are in the 60s and approaching 70 by Wednesday. Again, the best chance for rain is Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The situation will calm down later in the week, but we will have to monitor the system on Thursday or, excuse me
