Warm weather will warm New York this week.
The temperature is rising in New York City this week, with temperatures expected to reach 61 degrees on Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.
So, if you don't like the cold weather on Sunday — temperatures will be in the 20s Sunday evening — all you have to do is wait.
Spring conditions will begin to emerge Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures reaching the 50s. Some rain may fall Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service says there is a 70% chance of rain Tuesday evening, which will continue into Wednesday as temperatures rise.
Although Wednesday holds a forecast high of 61 degrees, the daytime temperature could swing to 38 degrees.
“It's going to get colder behind that, and maybe behind that front there will be a few snow flurries, like Wednesday night or Thursday,” said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Bob Larson.
The warmth of late winter won't last. Temperatures are expected to return to the 40s on Thursday and Friday.
Clouds and light rain are then expected at the end of next week, but temperatures are supposed to rise again on Saturday and Sunday, reaching 60 degrees on March 3, next Sunday.
According to AccuWeather, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of next weekend have a 55% chance of rain.
The first taste of spring in New York City comes about a month after Groundhog Day on February 2, when Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow and mistakenly predicted an early spring.
