After a weekend of sunshine and clear blue skies, cold and rainy weather is expected to hit the Bay Area again later this week.
The South Bay will see light rain starting Monday, accumulating to about a tenth of an inch, while the East Bay will see clouds and cooler temperatures, said Dylan Flynn, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
By Tuesday, a cold system from the Gulf of Alaska will bring cool morning temperatures in the mid 30s, rising to the low 60s during the day.
“It's going to be cloudy and cooler for everyone,” Flynn said.
Flynn said rain is expected to begin in the second half of the week, which lasts from Thursday to Sunday.
Don't expect anything as strong as last week's storms, he said, as total accumulation is expected to be no more than two inches. Humid weather is accompanied by moderate winds.
