Casualty star Melanie Hale has revealed her future plans for her character Siobhan.
The veteran soap star moved from Coronation Street to Casualty recently, moving to Holby City Hospital's emergency department after playing Corrie's Cathy Matthews between 2015 and 2022.
Hale's character – called Siobhan Mackenzie – is described as a “no-nonsense” clinical nurse manager – who is “the leader of a team who seems ready to ruffle some feathers”.
Speaking to TV Times, Hill gave viewers an idea of what they can expect from Siobhan's future.

“She interacts more with everyone,” Hill began. “You'll see her taking younger nurses under her wing.”
She went on to talk about some of the relationships viewers can expect from Siobhan in the upcoming episodes.
“She develops a strong relationship with nurse Cam Micklethwait (Barney Walsh) and will also have a nice friendship with paramedic Jacob Masters (Charles Finn).
“I love getting new scripts – it's so much fun opening them up and thinking, 'Here we go!'”

In the same interview, Hale revealed exactly why Siobhan's character appealed to her, saying: “Shivan is very close to me. She cares about people, but she's been around and seen it all, so she doesn't take anything too seriously.” Nonsense from anyone!”
Casualty recently aired Paige Allcott's exit after confirming her planned departure the week before. The series has seen a series of character departures in recent months, including Ryan and Sah, who quit last month.
Nigel Harman and Derek Thompson will also leave their roles as Max and Charlie respectively.
