The Truckers Union, one of the largest labor unions in the country, made a large donation to the Republican National Committee (RNC) after its meeting with Trump.
This sends a clear message about how the union believes the 2024 elections will go.
Truck drivers haven't done this in years.
Fox News reports:
The Truckers Union announced a maximum donation of $45,000 to the Republican National Committee after its meeting with Trump
The International Brotherhood's political action committee announced a $45,000 donation to the Republican National Committee's (RNC) conference fund last month in a stark departure from the federation's history of primarily giving grants to Democrats.
The Teamsters PAC — formally known as Independent Democratic and Republican Voter Education — allocated the donation on Jan. 25, according to federal election filings reviewed by Fox News Digital. The contribution was reported weeks after former President Trump, the front-runner to secure the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, met with Teamsters President Sean O'Brien and days before a second meeting between the two on January 31.
In a statement, Teamsters spokeswoman Cara Denise said the contribution was approved in December, before the union's two meetings with Trump, and would be sent to the Republican National Committee soon. An RNC official told Fox News Digital that he did not receive the contribution and that the Teamsters did not reach out about it.
Denise added that it marks the first time the Teamsters have participated in both the Republican and Democratic conventions in more than two decades.
More from Red State:
It is known that trade unions lean left in both leadership and political action. While many of the blue-collar workers who are part of the country's largest unions are split between Republicans and Democrats, unions as a whole are largely pro-Democrat…
While Teamsters members typically make occasional donations to Republican candidates, donations to the Republican National Committee itself are rare — the last time the Republican group donated was in 2004, when it donated $15,000. As you can see below, the vast majority of Teamster political spending goes toward Democrats.
This is a big development.
In a significant departure for the powerful organized labor group, the Teamsters' political action committee gave $45,000 to the Republican National Committee for the first time in 20 years, according to reports.https://t.co/godS6pd06O https://t. Share/TqvJNqlv4W

As we saw in 2016, union bosses often support Democrats, but their rank-and-file members support Trump because he understands the working class.
