With a decade now as head coach of the Golden State Warriors, the party may not be over anytime soon for Steve Kerr.

ESPN's Baxter Holmes This week he appeared on “Willard and Dibs” on 95.7 The Game“And he spoke about Kerr's future with the Warriors. Holmes said Golden State owner Joe Lacob expects Kerr to be extended. Lacob also reportedly believes a new deal for Kerr will be completed “very soon.”

The 58-year-old Kerr, who took over the Warriors in 2014, has led the team to four NBA championships and six Finals appearances. He has also won the NBA Coach of the Year award and holds Golden State's coaching record of 501-264 (.655). This is the fifth highest winning percentage ever among qualified coaches. While the Warriors have struggled most of this season, Kerr has righted the ship as they have now won seven of their last eight games to get back above .500 and into championship range.

Kerr is currently in the final season of his contract with Golden State. This has inevitably led to questions about what his future holds, especially since many still remember the health issues that caused Kerr to miss some time a few years ago.

But it appears Kerr and the Warriors have every intention of continuing their partnership for a while to come. While Lacob wants to seriously limit the team's spending elsewhere this upcoming offseason, a new deal for Kerr appears to be a real priority.
