Former “NYPD Blue” star Ricky Schroder has long been one of the only conservative Christians in Hollywood. In a new interview, he criticized society for telling “people that they are gods.”

    “I pray a lot”

“I pray a lot,” Schroeder, 53, told Fox News. “I didn't always pray a lot, but I do now. So I pray several times a day just to stay in touch with my Creator and my God.

He continued: “We live in a society that wants people to know that they are gods or that they are responsible.” “But when you submit yourself to the true power of God, and continue to submit yourself, it becomes easier.”

Schroeder went on to talk about the power of prayer while revealing three simple ways people can fight for their daily freedoms.

“Think for yourself,” Schroeder said. “Don't let other people think for you. You know, do your own research. Do your own critical analysis. Don't just trust what people say.”

“He prays. “If you believe in the Lord, pray because he gives you clarity,” he added. “And I think you just have to take care of yourself. Put yourself at the top of the list so that you are ready to face the world with your physical, emotional, and spiritual kind. “The world can be a difficult and difficult place.”

Schroeder's advice to his younger self

Schroeder, who began his career as a child star in the film in 1979 HeroHe also talked about the advice he would give himself when he was younger.

“Do not lose sight of the Lord,” he advised. “Because in Hollywood, it's easy to lose sight of God out there. You're drawn to so many things, and temptation can throw you off track. So, I would say if I could talk to myself when I was younger, it would be: 'Read your Bible.' more”.

“But I never fit in in Hollywood,” he admitted. “It wasn't my desire at all, for example. I was put into 'The Champ' when I was seven years old and turned eight, making 'The Champ'. So it's been an interesting path – when You didn't make these choices originally.

“Other people made choices for you and set you on the right path,” Schroeder explained. “But today I make my own choices. That's why I kind of decided to leave Hollywood, come back to Colorado, and I still want to tell stories. But a different forum and a different platform.”

    Schroeder as a parent

Schroeder is the father of two sons, Holden, 32, and Luke, 30, and two daughters, Cambrie, 27, and Faith, 22, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Andrea Bernard. The former couple was married from 1992 until their divorce in 2016. In this new interview, Schroeder talks about the professional and personal advice he would give his daughters.

“Fortunately neither of them was an actress or a wannabe actress,” he said. “I can't really give them a lot of advice about modeling except to keep your clothes on. But it's a tough time for our kids.”

“There are a lot of influences on them. So my advice to them – as a father – is to find a good and honest man who will not lie to you, who only has eyes for you, and you only have eyes for him, and build a life together and have common goals,” he concluded. “Today you often see couples who have separate goals. He has hers, but they don't have common goals. So I tell my daughters things like that.

It's rare to find a conservative Christian star in Hollywood these days, so we applaud Schroeder for continuing to use his platform to promote traditional values.
