After Bud Light teamed up with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney in a partnership in April of last year, singer Kid Rock began a highly influential boycott of the brand by posting a video on social media in which he filmed cases of Bud Light. Now, however, it appears Kid Rock is trying to come back months after he said he forgave Bad Light.
Kid Rock retreats into Bud Light County
While being interviewed by popular podcast host Joe Rogan, Kid Rock described the viral Bud Light video as being like a “machine gun tantrum.”
“So what's it like to be the guy who brought out Bud Light?” Rogan asked.
“Man, I was just having fun, to be honest with you,” Kid Rock replied. “I was angry, but it wasn't like it was going to ruin my day, let alone my life. I was kind of wondering: 'What the hell are they doing?'
Kid Rock went on to say that although he doesn't think he was the “pied piper” of the backlash, he feels he was the “face” of it.

Kid Rock befriends the CEO of Bud Light
Throwing a tantrum with a machine gun? “Woah, woah, they want to let men play in women’s sports, woah,” he said, adding that he has since become friends with Bud Light CEO Brendan Whitworth.
“We've become friends. He's a great guy,” Kid Rock continued, explaining that he met Whitworth at a UFC event he attended with former President Donald Trump last year.
“I'm saying, 'Dude, you seem like someone I'd like to be friends with and have a good time with.' And he says, “You can do it, that's what I'm saying.” And I say, “Okay, come to Nashville, come see me.” He did F-kin! He came with his first team…we broke bread, got mad at Bud Light, played ball, and did all that fun.
Kid Rock concluded by saying that he and Whitworth talked about ways in which he could collaborate with Bud Light. However, Kid Rock ultimately decided not to go through with this because he did not want to sacrifice changing his brand or image for a deal. However, he and Whitworth are “still talking,” and wants Kid Rock to know he no longer has anything against Bud Light.

Kid Rock forgives Bud Light
This comes two months after Kid Rock asked for Bud Light's pardon.
“Do I want to put their heads under water and drown them because they made a mistake?” he said in December, according to The Tennessean. “No, I think they got the message.”
Kid Rock went on to say that it's primarily the working class, “the people who don't have a dog in the fight,” who ultimately get hurt by things like the Bud Light boycott.
He added: “They made a mistake, they made a mistake.” “I'm over it.”
The Daily Mail reported that Bud Light lost nearly $30 billion in the 10 months following the Mulvaney partnership. Kid Rock can push back on the brand all he wants, but it seems the vast majority of beer drinkers still feel Bud Light doesn't deserve to be forgiven.
