    WEATHER UPDATE: Breezy, humid storms and cooler temperatures later today

    WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A warm afternoon will be followed by storms producing fresh winds and heavy rain this evening.

    timetable:

    Noon – 7:30 p.m: Temperatures rise to the low 60s, with the Greenbrier Valley quickly recovering from the upper 40s to upper 50s. There will likely be a few sun peaks around 3-4pm. The southwesterly breeze will increase to 15 mph, with gusts reaching 25-30 mph.

    7:30 PM – Midnight: Thunderstorms will continue with severe thunder and wind gusts up to 30-40 mph along the leading edge of the storms. Some small limbs will fall and a handful of homes will lose power for a short time.

    Moderate to heavy rain will continue until around 11pm before the rain subsides. Water will likely accumulate in the streets. Widespread flooding is not expected. Rainfall amounts range between 0.25-0.40″ expected within a short period.

    Temperatures will quickly drop from the upper 50s to the 40s as storms move in.

    Midnight – Friday break: Mostly cloudy.

    Friday: Partly cloudy and cooler than today.

    Saturday: Snow showers of 1-2 inches above 3,000 feet in eastern Fayette, Raleigh, western Greenbrier and Pocahontas counties. The rest of the region will see dust in shaded and north-facing areas.

    next week: Record highs are likely to be broken on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The best chance for rain or a storm is late Tuesday.
