- Fairly widespread snow/rainfall with thunderstorms is expected over Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
- Scattered snowfall is likely over Ladakh.
- Scattered rain is possible on the Ganges in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
National 5-day forecast:
A western disturbance will affect the western Himalayan region over the next few days, bringing snow and rain to northern India. Localized thunderstorms and hailstorms are likely over Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh on February 21.
Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are likely over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, northern Madhya Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan from February 21 to 22. Fairly widespread light to moderate rain is possible over Uttar Pradesh on February 21.
A cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh will bring widespread rain/snowfall over northeastern India during the rest of this week. The hilly areas of Arunachal Pradesh could also see moderate to heavy snow until February 23, and West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya on February 22.
Scattered light to moderate rain, thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds (gusting to 40-50 kmph to 60 kmph) are likely over Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim on February 21-22, and over Jharkhand on February 21.
Hailstorms may hit isolated places over the West Bengal Himalayas, Sikkim and Bihar on February 21.
Hot and humid weather is very likely to prevail over Kerala and Rayalaseema on February 21.
Temperatures will be cooler than the seasonal average in the northern half of India. This cold trend may continue until early March.
