ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A meeting was held Tuesday to discuss the future of emergency response for McKnight Road, Ross Park Mall and Parkway North.
In 2022, the Town of Ross and its eight volunteer fire companies agreed to participate in a comprehensive study to address the fire service.
Departments said lower staffing levels and financial obligations were making their work more difficult.
Channel 11 spoke with a neighbor who said response time is key.
A consulting company was contracted to conduct the study and provide recommendations.
“I think we need departments that are fully staffed so they can respond right away and not have to come home,” Nancy Follansbee said.
The consulting company said that the study is still ongoing. They conduct interviews and collect data.
