Late-night comedian John Oliver is offering Clarence Thomas $1 million a year and a $2.4 million bus to “knock out the Supreme Court.”
Oliver makes Thomas an offer
The Daily Mail reported that Oliver made the offer during Sunday night's episode of his HBO show “Last Week Tonight,” giving Thomas just thirty days to accept. This came after an investigation revealed that Thomas did not declare dozens of lavish trips and expenses paid for by Republican billionaire Harlan Crowe.
“There's a lot on your plate right now,” Oliver began, “from stripping women's rights to hearing about the January 6th issues… and you deserve a break, you know, from the meanness of Washington.” “So you can be surrounded by ordinary people whose lives have been made demonstrably worse for decades.”
“So here's the offer. A million dollars a year, Clarence. And a new apartment on wheels. And all you have to do in return is sign the contract and get the Supreme Court to approve it,” Oliver continued. “Talk about it with your best friend ever in the whole world. Because the clock starts now. Thirty days, Clarence… let's do this!'
He did not stop there, but Oliver proceeded to double down.
“I think you're thinking, 'What will my friend say if I take up this offer? Will they judge me sitting in boardrooms and mega yachts and Hitler shrines? Will they still treat me to luxurious vacations and sing songs about me from their phones?' 'Well, that's the beauty of friendship, Clarence,' said Oliver. “If they are real friends, they will love you no matter what your job is. So I think this might be the perfect way to find out who your real friends are.”

Thomas investigated
This came after ProPublica found that Thomas failed to disclose luxury trips and other benefits he received from conservative billionaire Crowe. The publication's investigation concluded that Crowe paid nearly $100,000 in tuition for Thomas' nephew, whom Justice was raising like a son, to attend Hidden Lake Academy and Randolph-Macon Academy, a military school the billionaire himself attended.
ProPublica also found that Crow had purchased the house where Thomas' mother lived, as well as two other properties on the same block. In 1984, Thomas inherited one-third of the three properties, his mother's residence and two additional homes in Savannah, Georgia. In 2014, Crowe, a “longtime friend of Feller and his wife,” purchased the homes for $133,000, and purchased other properties on the street at the same time.
“Feiler and his wife had put between $50,000 and $75,000 into his mother’s home in capital improvements over the years, and therefore, the transaction amounted to a capital loss,” the disclosure said.

Oliver claims that what he is doing is legal
Fox News reported that Oliver claims he spoke to legal experts who allegedly assured him he was not violating any laws by offering to pay Thomas.
“Which seems crazy to me because it seems like it shouldn't be. But as they keep pointing out, there are no rules in place to stop me from doing this. And let me be clear: HBO is not giving money to this. I'm in trouble, personally.” “You can really make me regret this. I could be doing standup tours to pay for your retirement for years.
“Clarence Thomas is arguably the most important justice on the court right now, and he never seems to like the job. 'It's not worth doing for grief,' he said. So, what if he could keep the luxurious privileges he clearly enjoys without having to To bear all this grief,” he stated earlier in the clip. “If you watch our show, you'll know that jokes aren't really our thing. This is real. A million dollars a year until you or I die.”
There is no one liberals despise more than black conservatives, because their very existence undermines the left's claim that all Republicans are inherently racist, which is why Thomas has been a target of the left for decades. Thomas has yet to respond to Oliver's offer, and we highly doubt he'll even decide to give him the time of day.
