Cheerios and Quaker Oats Reportedly Exposing Americans to Chemicals That May Cause Infertility – Rep. Ana Paulina Luna Says House Oversight Committee Will Hold Hearings on New Developments | Critic portal

Four out of five Americans, or nearly 80%, are exposed to a little-known chemical called chlormicate that is found in popular foods containing oats, including Cheerios, according to the Environmental Working Group.

A new report from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) examined the presence of chlormicate, an insecticide linked to infertility, which could be on the rise from previous studies and was detected in four out of five people in their latest study.

The study indicates that using products made from organic oats can reduce exposure to this pesticide.

“Since 1993, the Environmental Working Group has highlighted outdated legislation, harmful agricultural practices, and industrial lapses that pose a risk to our health and the health of our environment,” EWG’s web page says.

The new report notes that “Chlormequat was not allowed in oats sold in the United States before 2018, when Trump's EPA first gave approval for a certain amount of the chemical in imported oats. The same administration in 2020 raised the permissible level.” .

EWG expressed opposition to Biden's 2023 authorization of chlormequat manufacturer Taminco's use of the pesticide on barley, oats and wheat grown in the United States, saying “regulatory changes may help explain why we are seeing more frequent and higher detections of the chemical in the United States.” Americans were tested.”

This could create more speculation about the agendas of people like the fearsome billionaire Bill Gates, who is widely known to be behind the decline in global population. According to Securities and Exchange Commission filings, Bill and Melinda Gates participate in Taminco through their ownership of OCI NV, which they share with CF Industries Holdings, Inc.

Rep. Ana Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) sounded the alarm about this new revelation, saying the House Oversight Committee would investigate Americans' exposure to the chemical.

“I just talked to @RepJamesComer We will hold a hearing on @GOPoversight “About this,” Luna said on X, where she shared a report from the New York Post:

    The New York Post reported,

Four out of five Americans are exposed to a little-known chemical found in popular oat-based foods — including Cheerios and Quaker oats — which is linked to decreased fertility, altered fetal growth and delayed puberty.

The Environmental Working Group published a study in the journal Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology on Thursday that found 80% of Americans have tested positive for a harmful additive called chlormequat.

The “highly toxic agricultural chemical” is federally permitted for use in oats and other grains imported into the United States, according to EWG.

When applied to oat and cereal crops, chlormequat alters plant growth, preventing it from bending and thus facilitating harvesting, according to EWG.

    From the Environmental Working Group:

EWG will continue to study the prevalence of chlormequat in Americans and its potential harmful effects on our health. We also look to the federal government for answers to questions such as:

    • Should the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention add chlormequat to its biological monitoring program?
    • Should the Department of Agriculture test oat samples for chlormequat? At one point she had samples suitable for testing, but did not perform any tests.
    • Should the FDA test US food for chlormicate?
    • Should the EPA continue to resist calls to allow the use of the chemical on oats grown in the United States?

Rep. Luna suggests that “Americans should grow/cook their own food” in light of this discovery.

Reason #10,238,234 why more Americans should grow/cook their own food. https://t.co/zBk3iyeo0D
