California is still experiencing heavy rain
Southern California is once again targeted by flood rains on Tuesday. Rounds of rain continued to hit the Golden State, with threats of flash flooding, damaging winds and landslides.
Crews worked to clear landslides that closed roads in the Los Angeles area on Monday and conducted water rescues in the Sacramento area. Officials warned that more of the same would be possible on Tuesday.
Coming: A huge satellite is heading towards Earth
A satellite the size of a school bus is expected to collide with Earth's atmosphere on Wednesday.
Nearly 13 years old, defunct European The ESA satellite naturally fell from its orbit about 350 miles above Earth until our planet's gravity pulled the spacecraft down and it burned up in the atmosphere.
About 50 miles above Earth, the large satellite will break into smaller pieces, the European Space Agency said. According to the space agency, any risks resulting from the satellite's return are very low.
A rare opportunity to kayak in Death Valley National Park
Visitors to Death Valley National Park can now paddle on a temporary lake thanks to recent rains from the atmospheric rivers that frequently hit California.
Park visitors have a rare opportunity to enjoy some water activities in the driest place in the United States after sufficient rainwater created what rangers call Lake Manly in the Badwater Basin, the National Park Service said.
