Stäubli, one of the world's largest suppliers of industrial robots, says it has co-developed innovative computer vision, artificial intelligence and robotics solutions with California-based OnSight Technology.

Stäubli has been active since the early beginnings of the photovoltaic industry and is a pioneer in the field of robust and durable DC PV connectors. The original MC4 PV connector set industry standards and is currently the most installed worldwide, connecting more than 50 percent of global PV capacity.

Building on Stubley's long experience, the company says it is committed to sharing its knowledge and investing in future technology to increase safety in the solar industry.

OnSight Technology is a leading American computer vision, artificial intelligence and robotics company that develops innovative solutions for remote operations in large-scale photovoltaic power plants.

With many years of experience in the solar industry and technological know-how in computer vision, autonomous ground robots and AI OnSight technology aim to revolutionize the operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar farms.

By combining both parties' expertise in the PV industry, and combining OnSight Technology's specialist knowledge with Stäubli's long-standing reputation as industry leaders, they will design and develop cutting-edge solutions to facilitate large-scale, on-the-ground operation and maintenance. Installed photovoltaic power plants by mitigating risks and ensuring secure performance and returns.

“This is a strategic investment for us, and we are happy to be involved in the development of OnSight Technology's cutting-edge solutions. Innovation is part of Stäubli's DNA to drive future-oriented technologies to make our customers' operations easier and safer,” emphasizes Franco Delvecchio, CEO of Stäubli Electrical Connectors.

Photovoltaics is at the forefront of all renewable energy sources with significant annual growth of more than 20 percent. It is up to stakeholders to contribute to a safe and economically efficient PV ecosystem.

Stäubli PV DC connectors and eBOS solutions are the lifeblood of any PV system. Continuous, reliable and long-lasting power transmission ensures safe electricity supply and safe returns.

“With our proven track record in the photovoltaics industry and long-standing experience, we feel it is our responsibility to invest in the future of safer solar farms,” says Matthias Mack, Vice President Renewable Energy at Stäubli. “We are very excited to participate in projects to develop innovative OnSight Technology solutions.”

“We are thrilled to have Stäubli join our team with her support and expertise to advance the development of our unmanned ground robots with computer vision and AI-based analysis capabilities,” says Derek Chase, CEO of OnSight Technology.

“This partnership will expand the functionality and services of our leading solutions.”
