NASCAR's bad luck with the weather continues in 2024 as the crown jewel of the schedule was postponed to Monday.
It has been raining at Daytona International Speedway almost non-stop since Saturday morning, and with persistent rain in the forecast through early Monday, there was no chance that NASCAR would find a dry window to start the race.
Instead, fans who stay in a wet Daytona will get two games, with the Xfinity Series opener and Daytona 500 scheduled to take place on Monday.
the The 2024 Daytona 500 will start at 4:30 PM ET on Fox.
We could still see further weather delays. There is a 30 percent chance of rain Monday morning, which diminishes to about 10 percent by the time the Cup Series race is scheduled.
On Monday morning, the Xfinity Series United Rentals 300, originally scheduled for 11 a.m. ET, was postponed to 9pm ET (FS1) because of rain.
