Beyoncé announced her upcoming album “Act II” in a commercial during Super Bowl LVIII, scheduled for release on March 29. The album serves as the follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2022 release, “Renaissance.” To promote her latest single, “Texas Hold 'Em,” a large billboard made its way through West Hollywood's Rainbow District over the weekend, passing the popular gay bars on Santa Monica Boulevard, then turning onto Robertson Street to ensure visibility at The Chapel. And the monastery of Wehu.
The promotional billboard, which was spotted in WeHo over the weekend, was towed by a futuristic-looking vehicle for maximum visibility. Some individuals took photos of the car without realizing that Queen Bey was announcing its presence on Santa Monica Boulevard.
In addition to “Texas Hold 'Em,” the 42-year-old singer also released “16 Carriages” on streaming services.
According to Complex Music, the Super Bowl ad pays homage to Wim Wenders' 1984 road drama “Paris, Texas,” which shows the singer driving a taxi with several country songs playing before settling on “Texas Hold 'Em.” Beyoncé previously experimented with a country sound on the song “Daddy Lessons” from her 2016 album “Lemonade.”
Beyoncé also shared the news of “Act II” on her social media platforms, sparking a frenzy among fans around the world.
Billboard magazine reported that “Act II” will be Beyoncé's eighth studio album, and is expected to continue her streak of No. 1 appearances on the Billboard 200. All seven of her previous albums, from 2003's “Dangerously in Love” to “Renaissance,” debuted atop the chart.
Despite the anticipation surrounding “Chapter Two,” fans continue to bring up memories of “Renaissance,” Beyoncé's previous album. This recording demonstrated a departure from her previous sound, incorporating influences from electro house music. The accompanying Renaissance Tour broke records around the world, and Beyoncé took home four Grammy Awards at the 2023 ceremony, making her the most decorated female artist in Recording Academy history.
While details about “Act II” are still scarce, fans are eagerly awaiting more information in the near future.
