    The Hong Kong Observatory expects warmer and more humid weather next week before expected temperatures reach 14 degrees Celsius.

    Hong Kong residents should prepare for warmer and more humid weather weather The observatory expected humidity levels to reach 100 percent over the next five days, before temperatures gradually drop to 14 degrees Celsius (57 Fahrenheit) the following week.

    “Under the influence of a sea air current, the weather will be humid and foggy in coastal areas of Guangdong in the next few days,” the Meteorological Administration said on Sunday. “It's going to be fairly warm during the day.”

    Starting Monday, the relative humidity is expected to range from 70 percent to 100 percent. A reading of 85 percent or more is defined as “wet” by the observatory.

    Temperatures are expected to reach a peak of about 26 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be sunny spells throughout the week, but the weather will be mostly foggy, with a chance of rain.

    Humidity levels are expected to reach 100 per cent on Friday, with the temperature falling to 21 degrees, before gradually falling further the following week, with a minimum of 14 degrees expected on February 27.

    The forecaster said that the northeast monsoon winds will reach the coast of southern China in the latter part of this week and early next week. “Temperatures will gradually decrease in the region.”

    The observatory said that temperatures will rise to 25 degrees on Sunday, with sunny periods in the afternoon. Relative humidity was about 80 percent at noon.

    The forecaster added that the weather will be cloudy with the possibility of rain during the night, and temperatures may drop to about 20 degrees.

    There is a yellow fire danger warning in effect, indicating “high danger.”
