Maria Bartiromo: This week, more details emerged about the extent of that hoax, as multiple sources confirmed to reporters Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi and Alex Guttentag what we first reported here in 2018: that under former President Obama, the intelligence community, including the agency, had been decimated. CIA and FBI. It illegally targeted Trump advisers long before the summer of 2016 with the help of foreign intelligence agencies. A source confirmed that the intelligence community has identified these people as people who can be collided with, contacted, or manipulated. They have been targets of our intelligence community and law enforcement, and targets of information gathering and disinformation. …George, I want you to start with the $10,000 story that we talked about many times in 2018 and then came under fire on social media because we talked about it in 2017. You were in Israel and you were called and given $10,000 in cash. Can you tell us about that?
George Papadopoulos: Yes. This really goes to the heart of the shocking story that just came out last week regarding open collusion between the Obama administration's CIA, US intelligence agencies, and allied foreign intelligence services. It was a profound indictment, and it was extremely devastating for them. And it gets right to the core of this $10,000 question and many other settings. You're absolutely right. In the summer of 2017, as I leave the Trump transition, I will return to the energy field in which I was an advisor. I was offered $10,000 to go to Israel for a project basically, right? ? Quote Unquote Project. This guy named Charles Tawil introduces himself as an energy executive and offers me $10,000 in cash. Now, of course, as an American citizen in a foreign country, I don't speak the language. I don't know exactly what's going on. What would any normal person do? They give it to their lawyers before they return to the United States.
But what happens when I return to the United States, Maria? I've been intercepted by about eight FBI agents. They are all searching my luggage looking for money. They don't know what to do with me at that point, because the whole setup has failed. And this is really about how this whole scandal was not part of a spontaneous investigation in the way the mainstream media wanted you to believe. It was all predetermined, it was all fabricated, and it was all part of a whole plan by the Obama administration to subvert our democratic process.
… They're not going to sit there and tell you to your face that we're setting you up, but anyone can connect the dots and realize what was going on at that point. Recent information has emerged that about 26 Trump officials have been blindsided by the CIA and all various foreign intelligence agencies. And I started working on the Ben Carson campaign, and I realized that Dr. Ben Carson, unfortunately, was one of these 26 people that the CIA had targeted. So it made perfect sense when I left the Carson campaign and even before the Washington Post knew I had joined the Trump campaign, that all of these assets that are now at the heart of this whole scandal ran into me, tried to set me up, tried to set me up. To appoint other people. And it really shows you that this whole thing was a fabrication from the beginning because they had two goals in mind, Maria. First, they wanted to spy on the Trump campaign by any means necessary, including illegally. And second, should Trump have won in order to tie his hands from properly governing the country?
