PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Another storm system is set to move through the Philadelphia area Friday night into Saturday morning and bring a wide area of 2-3 inches of snow to kick off the Presidents Day weekend.

Ahead of the system, a winter weather advisory has been issued for the majority of the region from 10pm Friday until 10am Saturday when between 2-4 inches of snow is possible.

The majority of Friday will be filled with sunshine as high pressure quickly passes through the area and temperatures peak in the low 40s. However, gusty conditions will be the main draw, especially during the first half of the day when wind speeds are expected to range between 20-30 mph.

During the second half of the day, winds will calm as cloud cover begins to increase before a fast-moving snow storm approaches. Snow showers will move into the area from the west around midnight Friday, with continuous snow falling over most of the area during the early morning hours of Saturday.

Moderate to heavy snow is expected to fall across areas under a winter weather advisory, including Philadelphia, South Jersey and most of Delaware between 3-7 a.m. Saturday. Snow will begin to fall slowly after sunrise Saturday morning with the majority of the snow moving out of the area by 10 a.m. Some scattered snow showers will still be possible until early Saturday afternoon, but the significant snow will disappear before lunchtime.

Snowfall totals will likely range between 2-4 inches across most of the I-95 southbound corridor into South Jersey and most of Delaware. Snow totals north into Berks County, Upper Montgomery and Upper Bucks County will likely range between 1-2 inches with about an inch possible in the Poconos.

Slick spots on roads and sidewalks will be the main concern from the snowfall Saturday morning. Also plan on needing to do a little shoveling or snow removal before heading out to start your day on Saturday. Saturday morning temperatures will start near 30 degrees and then rise into the upper 30s Saturday afternoon. So, there won't be much help from the weather to melt a lot of snow.

Saturday night temperatures will return to the mid 20s, threatening some freezes and black ice early Sunday morning. But after Sunday morning, the warmth will gradually return with temperatures expected to approach 40 degrees Sunday afternoon and then return to near 50 degrees by Tuesday and Wednesday.

    Weather forecast for 7 days:

Friday: High 42, low 32, and winds early

Saturday: Maximum 38, minimum 30, next warning

Sunday: High 40, low 24, mostly sunny

Monday: High 45, low 29, seasonal

Tuesday: Great 48 and low 27, nice

Wednesday: High 51, low 32, partly sunny

Thursday: High 53, low 37, partly sunny
