PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It's going to be wild today.

There's a lot to talk about with new conditions being seen every couple of hours.

We start with the coldest morning of the week with morning temperatures dropping to near 20 degrees in most places. Pittsburgh's morning low has dropped to 21 degrees.

If we get that low, you'll have to go back to January 22 to find the last time we were this cold. Temperatures will remain very cold until 9 a.m. and then we will start to see a rapid rise in temperatures as a warm front pushes through.

Temperatures will approach 40 by noon and will be in the mid 50s by 2 p.m

Highs should reach around 3pm with showers along a cold front.

The rain will not last long but moderate rain is expected at its peak. Once the rain is over, the winds will pick up and we will see temperatures drop very quickly behind the rain.

This will be aided by strong winds of 20 mph with the potential for gusts of up to 35 mph. The winds will be stronger on the western side of the Laurel Heights. Temperatures at midnight will drop near 32 degrees and we will be cold enough to get some light snow in some areas.

We have a secondary system that will continue Friday evening with snow continuing to fall until sunrise on Saturday. The highest snow totals will occur south of I-70 where I think there will be enough snow in areas to need shoveling sidewalks and car drives.

The rest of the weekend may see a wave or two but nothing to worry about.

I have Friday highs reaching the upper 30s with Saturday highs just in the low 30s.

High temperatures on Sunday will be near 40 degrees with us moving back into the upper 40s on Monday and Tuesday.
