    Winter Weather Warning for Central, East and Central South Dakota

    PIERRE, SD (KELO) — Winter weather warnings are in effect for central and east-central South Dakota according to the National Weather Service.

    Possibility of snow in the middle of the week; Coldest weekend – PM update at storm center: Tuesday, February 13

    A band of snow will move across central South Dakota Wednesday morning including the Pierre area and across the east-central portion of the state. The snow pack will also impact the I-90 corridor, starting Tuesday night and continuing through noon on Friday, February 16, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation. Expect four to six inches of snow in most areas and up to eight inches in some places.

    Expect snow-covered and icy roads. Travel will be difficult in many areas. Wind gusts will be minimal, reducing the chance of drifting.
