- Cold conditions are expected across much of the central and eastern United States
- Fortunately, there is not a lot of rain in the forecast.
- Much of the West will see dry and mild conditions.
Trick-or-treaters this Halloween will need a warm costume in parts of the eastern and central United States, but parts of the West will have to survive the cold temperatures.
The good news is that there is no rain in the forecast in most areas.
Here's where the cold air will be: A powerful Canadian high pressure system will be stationed over the central United States by Halloween. Unfortunately, this means that temperatures are expected to be colder than average, especially in the plains.
Temperatures are expected to reach the 20s and 30s from parts of the Rocky Mountains to the Central Plains and Great Lakes. Conditions are expected to be a little milder in the mid-Atlantic and Tennessee Valley into Texas, where temperatures should be in the 40s and 50s. But that's still cooler than average.
Temperatures in California, Arizona and Florida will be pleasant.

Apart from a few showers, dry conditions are expected: The same high-pressure system that keeps much of the country cool will keep it relatively dry.
A few showers are possible in coastal areas from the southeast to the mid-Atlantic. A mix of rain and snow or some old flurries are possible near the Great Lakes.
The rest of the Midwest, South and West should be rain-free.
