CNN is promoting journalist Natasha Bertrand, who wrote a 2020 Politico report on intelligence officials who described Hunter Biden's laptop as Russian disinformation.
In other words, instead of paying a price for spreading misinformation, they are being rewarded for it.
This is a perfect example of why many Americans do not trust the news media.

From CNN:
Natasha Bertrand has been promoted to CNN correspondent
CNN announced today that Natasha Bertrand has been promoted to correspondent covering national security affairs. She is based in Washington, D.C., and will continue to focus on national security and politics across CNN's platforms
Bertrand's robust coverage remains an integral part of CNN's national security and political newsgathering operation, breaking a variety of stories including the widespread use of stupid bombs by Israel in Gaza and the extent of the secrecy surrounding Secretary Austin's hospitalization. Bertrand also played a vital role in the team that uncovered the story of the missing Russian intelligence dossier under former President Donald Trump, and was part of the team that won an Emmy Award for coverage of the Russian invasion of Ukraine where she reported on the ground from NATO.
Here's a Politico story written by Bertrand in 2020:
Dozens of former intelligence officials say Hunter Biden story is Russian disinformation
More than 50 former senior intelligence officials have signed a letter stating their belief that the recent revelation of emails allegedly belonging to Joe Biden's son “bears all the classic hallmarks of a Russian information operation.”
The letter, signed Monday, centers around a trove of documents published by the New York Post last week that allegedly link the Democratic nominee to his son Hunter's business dealings. Under the headline “Biden’s Secret Emails,” The Washington Post reported that it obtained a copy of Hunter Biden’s laptop hard drive from President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who said he obtained it from a Mac store owner in Delaware who also alerted Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Although the signatories of the letter did not provide any new evidence, they said that their national security experience made them “strongly suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case,” and they cited several elements in the story that suggest the Kremlin did the work.
Never forget that Natasha “Fusion GPS” Bertrand turned the Russian collusion lie into print and was also the author of the disinformation operation claiming that US intelligence experts said Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian. CNN is now rewarding her publicity with a promotion. https://t.co/BM4vPruFNk

News organizations have laid off hundreds of journalists, but CNN is promoting who pushed fake news about Hunter Biden's laptop and developed the Russia collusion hoax for years https://t.co/BUn0qusVKF

Bertrand started the “Hunter Laptop is Russian Disinformation” conspiracy theory created by the Biden campaign just before the election. https://t.co/aBNZaT7P3G pic.twitter.com/GuPaI9QCd3

There appear to be no consequences for being the Biden campaign's disinformation writer. https://t.co/89q67WAoUk pic.twitter.com/zKwnWU7Ukr

That's our media. They lie to us and give each other awards for doing so.
