Another warm and windy day before the weather turns colder and there's a chance of snow

Sunshine remains in the sky today, and the weather should be beautiful for the Super Bowl victory parade in Kansas City! No matter your plans, the weather will be great during the afternoon with temperatures in the mid 60s, and it can be a little breezy at times with winds gusting to around 30 mph.

A front moves in later tonight and into the early morning hours of tomorrow. There may be enough moisture in our northeastern counties that we can sprinkle a little, but most of us will stay dry. We'll be back in the mid 50s tonight, but temperatures will struggle a bit Thursday with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s.

It looks like another batch of cold air will arrive by the end of the week. With this cold weather, we will be watching for any rain chances as it looks like a weak system will give us clouds and possibly some rain or snow showers Friday morning as the cold weather returns. As of now, it looks like the best chance to see snow is in the morning hours of Friday, before lunchtime. The good news is that the effects appear to be minimal thanks to unseasonably warm temperatures over the past few weeks. If we see any accumulation, it will be mainly on grassy surfaces, but there may be some rough conditions during your Friday morning commute to watch out for.

Highs will likely be in the upper 30s and lower 40s on Friday and Saturday with overnight lows in the upper 10s to lower 20s. But, as we saw last weekend, the cooling off period does not last long. We're looking at warming quickly into the mid 50s by Sunday, and close to 60 degrees by Monday. The above average temperatures may carry us through the entire month of February!
