The House could take a procedural vote to double the $10,000 cap on state and local tax deductions this afternoon, as a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers from high-tax states fight an uphill battle to undo one of the most controversial provisions in the tax code. . Tax Reform Act of 2017
The vote was scheduled as part of an agreement between House Republican leadership and some blue state Republicans in exchange for support for the tax reform package the House passed last month that expanded the child tax credit.
