Throughout the week, we're updating our Best New Songs playlist with the new releases that caught our attention the most, whether it's a single that preceded an album release or a newly unveiled deep dive. And every Monday, we round up the best new songs released over the past week (the eligibility period begins Monday and ends Sunday night) in this best-of-new-music roundup.

On this week's list, we have Beth Gibbons' “Floating on a Moment,” the lead single from the Portishead singer's long-awaited solo debut, a meditation on death that somehow feels warm, beguiling, and transcendent all at once; Kacey Musgraves' soft, simple new single “Deeper Well”; “Purple Land” by Amen Diones, a complex self-portrait at the top of his new album Death jokes; Drifting and deeply intimate, Claire Rosay's “Head” is the lead single from her new album Feelings; Liam Casar's upbeat new song 'Next Timearound'; “On Tonight,” the warm and captivating new single from Rosalie’s upcoming LP; “Ice,” Erika De Casser’s sticky, funky collaboration with Tampa rappers They Hate Change; “Nothing Like”, another captivating preview of Mannequin Pussy's new record; And Yard Act, with the help of Katie J. Pearson, danced “When the Laughing Stops.”
