Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee spat that some Americans in the stands at the Super Bowl did not stand during the playing of the “Black National Anthem.”
Just a few years ago, Democrats made it clear that it was perfectly acceptable not to stand during the actual US national anthem. What is the problem?
There were probably thousands of people in the stands who didn't even know about the other anthem because there was no other anthem. We only have one.
The Daily Mail reported:
Steve Cohen, a Democrat from Tennessee, complains that too few people stood for the black national anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” during the Super Bowl performance.
Democratic Congressman Steve Cohen criticized the Super Bowl crowd for failing to stand for the so-called Black national anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
He took to X after the game to say: “Very few people stood at the Super Bowl for 'Lift Every Voice and Sing.'
The song has been performed in the last four Super Bowls, and was sung by this year's Grammy winner Andra Day.
Day's song received cheers from the audience, but many of them appeared in the background and remained seated throughout her performance.
Cohen later added: “I respect and respect our national anthem as it represents our country and our pride in it.” However, if you look at the history and some of the speech, you will find that it is about slavery and not in an interrogative way.
Imagine you're a member of Congress and you tweet this.
Very few people stood at the Super Bowl for “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

It's not a national anthem. I thought no one in the government knew that

Rep. Steve Cohen, Democrat of Tennessee @RepCohen Super Bowl fans rip for not standing for the Negro national anthem
Two things: 1- It's the black national anthem, not the Negro national anthem, and 2- We have a national anthem that represents all American citizens regardless of race, GFY https://t.co/8gvHXQuGbp

Why are Democrats focused on dividing Americans?
