Kava Culture Kava Bar took on seven feet of water from Hurricane Ian, but it wasn't enough to keep a Fort Myers Beach business from roaring back onto San Carlos Boulevard.
The non-alcoholic bar recently reopened at 17979 San Karls Blvd. The bar serves premium cava and all-natural vegan brews produced by Botanical Brewing Co. Kava is derived from the roots of plants and is often characterized as a relaxing agent.
“Everyone in Fort Myers Beach knows what the businesses have been through and what an accomplishment rebuilding has been.” “It's a great experience,” says Jacqueline Rusher, co-founder of Kava Culture and Botanical Brewing Co. “We are all survivors. Our reopening has been a team effort, and we can't wait to celebrate the future of Fort Myers Beach at our grand opening with the Beach Tribe and the sober community. We've got all the non-alcoholic spirits out there, but we're wondering if the bar's famous ghost will make an appearance?”
Kava Culture Kava Bar is a company owned and operated location by Tyla Gonzalez.
Hurricane Ian brought it, Gonzalez said “Adversity that tested the foundation of our commitment to a sober and supportive community. The storm may have physically damaged our space, but it could not break the spirit that binds us together.
The rebuilding of Kava Culture Kava Bar is a reaffirmation of “Our commitment to heal, grow, and celebrate every sober milestone, including two years of sobriety within these walls,” Gonzalez said.
The bar features a bright mermaid mural, a fire pit, hammocks and a gazebo. The property also houses AirBNB rental space currently used by employees.
According to a press release from the company, all Kava Culture Kava Bar locations now serve Botanical Brewing's plant-based brews made with kava, kratom, kanna, and CBD (cannabidiol). Latte is also served.
