During Sunday night's Super Bowl, ultra-liberal singer Taylor Swift appeared on screen several times cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce as his Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers. However, unfortunately for CBS, this is now backfiring in a big way, as popular radio host Chris Russo is calling out the network for “road to the top” footage of Swift.
Russo criticizes CBS
“They exaggerated it yesterday,” Russo said on Monday, according to the Daily Mail. “I mean I don't care if it's just a split second. They've definitely been to that suite for Taylor Swift 9,000 times, which is absolutely overrated.
“And I'm not one of those…Listen, I think this is too much. I'm not interested in that. I think this is a caring relationship, and I don't think it's fake; what I like,” he continued. “I saw it again on the pitch; “I think there's a future there, but they went her way, too many times. I didn't count the number of shots in that set, it must have been 10 or 12 shots during the game.”
Rousseau did not stop there, but proceeded to double down.
“It's too much… It's not too long; It's just a go-to [her suite]Russo added. “All they have to do is go there for a second.”
“And if you only go there for 38 seconds, that means you can still go there 25 times — each time is a second and a half,” he said. “Hey, there she is!” Oh, there she is! Kelsey caught the ball. there she is. Presidents lead; there she is. She crossed her fingers. there she is! I mean it was too much.”

“Way over the top”
Given how popular Swift was, many said she brought new viewership to the NFL, especially among women. However, Russo warned that this only served to detract from the original football audience that made the sport great in the first place.
“Listen, I know she's a big star. The New York Post put her on… the front page, 'Welcome to Sin City,' with Taylor Swift on the cover, and everyone involved in Super Bowl 58. So, you could make an argument that they're guilty, too,” “I confess. “But this is CBS, and I understand you have to show a little Taylor Swift, but they're over the top. That's my opinion.”
“Now, you guys might feel differently, and if you're a 13-year-old girl, or my daughter, who cares? You can't get enough of this,” Russo concluded. “Thirteen-year-old girls, 14-year-old girls And 17-year-olds, 23-year-olds like Keira Russo, aren't soccer fans — they're Taylor Swift fans. This is supposed to be a football crowd, and it was just too much.

Swift attends the Super Bowl
Swift attended four of Kelce's games throughout the NFL season. On Sunday night, she watched him win his third Super Bowl alongside his mother Donna, brother Jason Kelce, and several of her A-list friends including Blake Lively, Ace Spice, and Kellie Teller. Swift was seen kissing Kelce after the match to celebrate his win.
Then, Variety reported that 123.4 million viewers watched Super Bowl 2024, making it the most-watched television broadcast ever.
Although Swift has become incredibly popular lately, she also has many detractors who are tired of the constant coverage of her, especially when it comes to her attending NFL games. Where are you on this issue? Let us know in the comments section.
