Super Bowl LVIII is underway. The Kansas City Chiefs are playing the San Francisco 49ers, and the end of the game will officially conclude the 2023-24 NFL season.
The 58th edition of the big game will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be the 11th time New Orleans has been the preferred Super Bowl destination, which will tie the location with the Miami metropolitan area for most times hosting the big game. The Caesars Superdome has hosted seven times before, the most games any stadium has ever hosted. An eighth time as host would boost her lead in the competition.
After Super Bowl LIX, the destination of the championship game in 2026 and 2027 is already known. In 2026, the Super Bowl will be held at Levi's Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area. The following year it will be at SoFi Stadium in the Los Angeles area.
What goes into hosting a Super Bowl?

The host city/stadium, as an NFL venue, is just one of many requirements to host a Super Bowl, and because of this, there are a lot of teams that will likely never see the game in their home stadium. The size, weather, transportation, and space of the hotel are all important aspects of hosting.
Host stadiums must have a capacity of at least 70,000 spectators, and the average match-day temperature in the city must be at least 50 degrees Fahrenheit. If the city is not warm, it must have a roof.
In addition, host cities must have suitable training fields for both teams, at least 35,000 parking spaces within one mile of the stadium, and sufficient hotel accommodations to fit at least 35 percent of the stadium's capacity. Host stadiums must also have enough space for the NFL Experience and Gameday Experience.
New Orleans, San Francisco, and Los Angeles all fit these requirements, which is why they've become popular Super Bowl venues recently. Not only are these cities hosting the upcoming Super Bowls, but they have hosted the game in recent seasons. The last Caesars Superdome game was in 2013, Levi's Stadium had the game in 2016, and SoFI Stadium has the game in 2022.
