During a sentencing hearing in Las Vegas last month, a man jumped on top of a judicial bench, attacked the judge, and was captured on video. He has now been charged with attempted murder.
Debra Redden, 30, was indicted on nine counts by a grand jury in Las Vegas on Thursday. A summons date has been set for him on February 29.
According to Steve Wolfson, the Clark County District Attorney at the time of Redden's arrest, Redden had been convicted of three felonies and nine misdemeanors, most of them related to violence.
When Redden rushed into Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus's seat on Jan. 3, she was about to sentence Redden.

The New York Post reported,
The new attempted murder indictment alleges that Redden attacked Holthus by “grabbing her, pulling her hair, placing his hands around her throat, and/or striking her in the head in an unknown manner and means.”
He is also accused of “punching, kicking and/or shoving” a Las Vegas police officer.
The attorney who represented Redden at the preliminary hearing did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment Saturday.
A reporter was told outside court last month that Redden suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder even though court records show he is competent to stand trial. His adoptive mother, Karen Springer, and older sister, LaDonna Daniels, confirmed the diagnosis.
