More deviation, more excuses.
The Biden regime has had three years to close the border, and they simply refused to do so.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was on NBC's “Meet the Press” Sunday morning to talk about the border crisis.
“You've now been in office for three years, and let's talk about what happened during those three years. More immigrants crossed the border illegally last year than ever before,” Kristen Welker told Secretary Mayorkas.
“The data you cite is a powerful example of why we need legislation to fix what everyone agrees is a broken immigration system.” Secretary Mayorkas replied.
“Do you bear responsibility for what happens at the border?” Kristin Welker asked.
“We do not take responsibility for the broken system,” Mayorkas continued.

Mayorkas also said he does not regret ending Trump's highly successful Remain in Mexico policy.
NBC asked Mayorkas if he regrets ending Trump's “Remain in Mexico” policy and would he bring it back?
Mayorkas said no.

The immigration system may be broken or in disarray, but that has nothing to do with borders.
The federal government is responsible for protecting the country from invasion under Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution.
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a republican Form of Government, and shall protect each from invasion; and to exercise the Legislature or the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be in session) against domestic violence. Article IV, Section 4.
They failed to do so. 11 million illegal immigrants invaded the country at Biden's invitation through open borders.
Texas has seen results in securing the border at Eagle Pass. Since Gov. Greg Abbott closed the border, illegal crossings have dropped dramatically. TGP reported in early February.
Tensions between Texas and the Biden regime escalated in January, with red state governors supporting Texas and their decision to defend the border.
Maybe if the federal government learned from Texas' example regarding border security instead of feuding with them, the border would be secure.
