During last night's Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg appeared in a powerful ad encouraging people to pray.
Wahlberg's Super Bowl ad
During the Super Bowl, Wahlberg starred in a commercial for Hallow, a Catholic app for prayer, meditation, music and sleep, People magazine reported. The ad appeared with actor Jonathan Rummy, known for his portrayal of Jesus Christ on the TBN series “The Chosen.” series.
Wahlberg, 52, began the announcement in church, blessing himself before beginning the prayer while sitting in a pew, according to the Daily Mail.
“Oh my God, we just take this moment to thank you. We thank you for this time to come together as a family, as friends, and as a country.”
“Lord, help us, especially in this Lent, to draw closer to You. Amen,” he continues. “Join us in prayer this Holy Lent. Keep praying.”
As Wahlberg speaks, the ad shows a family praying around a table, a crowd of people cheering at a sporting event, and soldiers and women kneeling in prayer. A priest can then be seen placing ashes on the head of Rumi, who closes his eyes and appears calm.

Quds application
The Hallow app is said to offer prayer on the go and offers users the opportunity to customize their prayer experience with a tailored daily prayer routine. The app allows users to “connect with friends and family” and create “custom family groups.”
“The goal at Hallow has always been to reach as many people as possible, both those who take their faith seriously and especially those who may have fallen away, and invite them deeper into a deeper relationship with God,” Alex Jones, Hallow co-Founder and CEO , he told the New York Post.
He continued: “When we learned of the timing of this year's big game, we could not have been more excited to work with Mark and Jonathan to use it as an opportunity to call millions to prayer.”

Christian Faith Wallberg
Wahlberg has long been open about his strong Christian faith.
“It's a balance. I don't want to shove it down anyone's throat, but I'm not denying my faith. It's a greater sin,” Wahlberg said last year.
“You know, it's not common in my field, but I can't deny my faith. It's important for me to share that with people,” he continued. “But I have friends from all walks of life and from all kinds of different beliefs and religions, so it's important to respect them.” And honor them as well.”
As for what his faith means to him, Wahlberg said, “It's everything, and it has allowed me so many things.”
He concluded his speech by saying: “God did not come to save the saints, but rather He came to save sinners.” “We've all faced issues in our lives and want to be better versions of ourselves, and by focusing on my faith, it allowed me to do that.”
