    Springfield and Central Illinois forecast

    Moderate temperatures will continue into early next week

    Sunday night: Partly cloudy with coolness at night. a little: 29

    Monday: Mostly sunny with moderate temperatures. high:44 a little: 26

    Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a slight chance of rain/snow. high: 45 a little: 30

    Wednesday: Warm up and take a sunny shower mostly in the evening. high: 51 a little: 40

    Thursday: Mostly sunny with some rain in the morning. high: 50 a little: 32

    Happy Sunday! It's another warm, above-average day in central Illinois. If you're going out tonight to watch the big game, we'll still be partly cloudy, but temperatures will drop into the upper 20s. Wind chills can reach the teens overnight. Monday brings sunshine and mild temperatures across much of central Illinois. The southern part of our area could see rain and some light snow along I-70. Snow accumulation will be very light, with as little as an inch at most south of I-70.

    As we enter the first half of next week, temperatures will remain above average. Tuesday will be sunny with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. Temperatures will rise slightly on Wednesday with plenty of sunshine. Wednesday night brings the next weather maker with light rain across the area. Thursday will stay in the low 50s with more sunshine. We will calm down next weekend. On Friday, we have a chance to see some light snow followed by below average temperatures.
